This photo was taken in McDonalds, London 1981, we were down there for the British Judo Council (MAC) National Championship. Now 2018 and one of our parents has given  new life to this excellent photo. The original below shows what a great job that Mala  has done.

Millie wins our top award.

15 year old Millie Beckingham has won Bushido Judo Kwai' top award, the Stephen Milsted Award, this award was first presented in 1978 when senior member Steve Milsted left England to work in Germany, Steve sent us some money to buy a shield which would be presented to the junior member who on the 3rd May would be presented with the shield and this would be kept until the next May 3rd. The shield was not returned after 10 years, so we decided to buy a trophy each May and the winner could keep it, It was Millie's day today. Photo, Millie receives her award from Instructor Chris Dawson 7th Dan.

Bushido Judo Kwai is 42 today.

This is the first photo of Bushido Judo Kwai members after being founded on the 3rd May 1976 and we are still going.

Millie Beckingham wins gold in the u44k Junior Girls u 15 years event at The B.J.C Newcastle Area Open Championship at Benfield Sports Centre, Benfield Sports Centre, Newcastle upon Tyne. on 15th April 2018. Millie was presented with her Gold Award by Sensei Joyce Kenny.

When we were in Japan

At the Kodokan, Japan in 2007, L/R Me, Steve Blower. I was in Tokyo for two day's while training at Konan Judo Club in Kobe for two weeks, Steve and I just happened to bump into each other having not seen each other for over 17 years having competed against each other in London.
