Bushido Judo Kwai Medal Table, 2014 to 2015.

Medal success for Wallsend's Bushido Judo Kwai.

Four members from Wallsend's Bushido Judo Kwai competed at the British Judo Council, North East Judo Championship at Westgate Centre for Sport, Newcastle upon Tyne on Saturday 27th September 2014, Our team did very well with 9 year old Zac Ellerby winning Gold by scoring  three ippons in the Primary u36k event, Lydia Bamford age 7 won a Silver in the Primary u28k while Jack Compton age 9 was awarded a Runner Up Medal in the Primary Boy's o36k event, 10 year old Jack Barnett competing against boy's up to fourteen years of age in the Junior Boys u40k, won a Bronze after just missing out on the Silver, A good day with some brilliant judo but to see our team work so hard, made it all worth while for me.

Jessica Cairns a 13 year old student and  Robert Stuart 1st Kyu, who is an Assistant  to the Instructors at Wallsend's Bushido Judo Kwai, demonstrate Okuri-Ashi-Barai to our club members.

This was the Northumberland B.J.C Area, Beginner Competition 2014,
Churchill Community College, Churchill Street, Wallsend, Tyne & Wear, 14th June 2014.

With over one hundred entries in this competition, Jenni Frances (7) and Lydia Bamford (8) got us off to a good start by winning gold and silver awards respectively in the same category, while Zac Ellerby (9) won the gold in his event, later in the day, Millie Williams (10) made it four out of four by winning a silver award. This has been an excellent day for our club and a really good event to be invited to.

Five junior members from Wallsend's Bushido Judo Kwai competed at the

 Westgate Judo Championship, Newcastle upon Tyne on Saturday 7th June 2014.

Zac Ellerby (9) won Gold in the Primary u38kg, Ellie Hutton (9) won Gold in the Primary u30kg,

Liam Banks (14) won Silver in the Junior o60kg, Jenni Frances (7) won Silver in the Primary u25kg,

Jessica Cairns (13) won Bronze in the Junior 55kg, Millie Williams (10) won Bronze in the Junior u50kg.

Unfortunately Jessica was injured in her event and was taken to hospital, Good news, nothing broken and just needs rest.
