Lydia Bamford started us off in our first event of 2017, to find our Judoka of the Year 2017, Lydia who ended our search for our Judoka of the Year 2016 in joint second place won tonight's round with a top draw Ippon Seoi Nage with ippon, well done that girl.

Jack wins The Judoka of the Year Award for 2016.

Well done to Jack Barnett, who has won Bushido Judo Kwai's, Judoka of the Year Award. To win this Jack won our monthly best technique of the night award over a 12 month period, winning it 5 times, it was also won by, Adam Bamford, Callum Taylor, Lydia Bamford 4 times, Jessica Bate 3 times, Lewis Andrews, Matthew Potts 2 times and Millie Williams 1 time.
Barry McSherry 4th Dan presented Jack with his trophy. Barry joined the Bushido Judo Kwai in 1976 and has proved to be a very talented judoka, who has trained wit Master Haku Michigami 9th Dan in Bordeaux, France and also trained in Kobe, Japan with four other members of our club.
