Six from Six at Judo Championship.
Six Bushido Judo Kwai members took part in the Westgate Judo Club Championship at Centre for Sports, Westgate Road, Newcastle upon Tyne today, with great success winning three Gold and three Silver medals.
Photo, Asst Instructor Robert Stuart, Michael Mains (Bronze) Jack Barnett (Gold) Ellie Hutton (Silver) Millie Williams (Gold) Callum McInnes (Silver) Jessica Cairns (Silver), well done to you all.
I must mention Michael Mains who has just joined us, what a mammoth task he had for his first championship, after fighting through a very hard pool, three judoka ended with the same wins and the same points, so they had to fight it out again, Michael ended up with a very hard earned Bronze.

This was the first time for many years two founder members had been together, it was really good to see Steve again, he had done so much for our club in the early day's. 37 years have passed by so quickly, and we have gone through some hard times but well worth it, we still have a great club full of great members.
