The technical board of the All England Judo Federation held two meetings in Northumberland on the 2nd & 3rd of July, Joe Norman (President) and Steve Butler (National Coach), both from Essex were present. On Saturday evening, after a long day of discussions we all went for a meal in Cramlington.

Jessica win's The Steve Milsted Award
Jessica Cairns has won the Bushido Judo Kwai's highest honour, The Steve Milsted Award, this is presented annually to the junior member, who has won the most gold medals on or around May 3rd, the club's birthday, the award was originally given by Steve Milsted in 1978, a founder member of Bushido Judo Kwai who now lives in Australia.
Jessica joined our club on the 27th March 2007 and follows a long line of first class judoka to win this award, starting in 1978 with Jan Russell.
Michael Clark a very well respected member and a great friend to the Bushido Judo Kwai, was invited to present Jessica with her trophy, Michael joined us in 1976, just months after the club was founded and has the grade of 1st Dan, Mick has also represented the club in Spain and Japan.
