In 1961 i began my judo career at the Hokojun Judo Club in North Shields, however it was not until Sunday 11th September 1983 when for the first time we trained together and that was at the National Sportcentrum, Papendal, Arnhem, Holland, under the direction of Shizuya Sato 8th Dan (IMAF).
